Guides

Pick a goal, follow the wiring. Each guide names the gates it uses and shows the connections.

Per-player reputation points

Use IncLeaderboard("reputation", n) on a player’s controller to award points, GetLeaderboard to read them, and Fmt + DisplayText to show them on a HUD or board. EA3 added persistent per-player leaderboard data; confirm in-game whether your specific value survives disconnects and reloads before depending on it.

Gates used: increment-leaderboardset-leaderboardformat-text
on GoodDeed() -> (player) {
  let ctrl = player.ControllerOf()
  ctrl.IncLeaderboard("reputation", 5)
  let rep = ctrl.GetLeaderboard("reputation")
  ctrl.DisplayText(Fmt("Reputation: {A}", rep), lifetime = 3.0)
}

Button press counter

A raw button is held/released; feed it through Edge so you count presses, not frames. Pair with a Counter to wrap the count, or just accumulate into a variable.

Gates used: square-buttonedgecounter
let edges = Edge(button.Held)
on edges.Rising { presses = presses + 1 }

Smooth animated contraption

Drive an alpha from 0→1 with a Timer (or a Tween gate), then Blend between a start and end position/rotation/color. That one pattern covers doors, lifts, pistons, and fades.

Gates used: timerblendtween
let t = Timer(1.0, restart = go)
let alpha = t.Time / 1.0
let pos = Blend(startPos, endPos, alpha)
These guides use Wirescript (the community language) to show the logic clearly. In-game you wire the equivalent gates by hand — the gate names link to each gate's page. Behavior is documented, not independently tested; confirm in-game.
